About Me
and my artwork
I spend a lot of time scouring Puget Sound beaches with my family searching for marine debris that we collect and I turn into these artworks. My materials don't all come from the sea but they have to come from somewhere where they would otherwise be discarded. These materials reflect in my work, their histories of time and place which generates curiosity, speculation and imagination.
These scraps of materials are attached together in various ways and painted but often keep their original weathered character and feel. The final pieces are not known beforehand and are assembled intuitively often working with multiple pieces at once.
